Op zondag 5 april aanstaande woensdag 16 september zijn alle ogen gericht op het MGM Grand casino in Las Vegas (Nevada). Daar worden die avond voor de 55e keer de Academy of Country Music Awards uitgereikt. Deze awards eren de beste artiesten van 2019 in diverse categorieën.
In verband met de wereldwijde uitbraak van het coronavirus, heeft men dit evenement moeten verplaatsen. De oorspronkelijke datum was zondag 5 april.
Vandaag werd door Lauren Alaina en Ashley McBryde bekend gemaakt wie die avond de gastheer/-vrouw is, en welke artiesten er genomineerd zijn.

De show in Las Vegas wordt dit jaar gepresenteerd door niemand minder dan Keith Urban. Deze country music superstar neemt, voor de eerste keer, het stokje over van Reba McEntire.
