Deze week verschijnen weer drie albums. We kunnen vanaf morgen luisteren naar twee studioalbums en één Extended Play.

Chase Rice brengt deel twee uit van zijn ‘The Album’ serie, Jason Isbell releaset samen met zijn band ‘The 400 Unit’ een nieuwe studioalbum en Sara Evans trakteert ons op een compilatie met covers van legendarische songs.

In januari van dit jaar verscheen Part I, en nu is het tijd voor het vervolg: “The Album – Part II“. Op dit tweede deel staan vier gloednieuwe songs, waarvan Chase Rice er aan drie meeschreef. De EP werd geproduceerd door Chris DeStefano, die ook meeschreef aan de laatste track op het album (“Belong”).

We’ve been eager to get more new music out to the fans, especially during this crazy time. I’m really proud of these songs and hope they can bring a little joy to people while they’re stuck at home… and I can’t wait to play them live for you when we’re back on the road together soon!

Fans van Chase kunnen zich verheugen, want de zanger heeft aangekondigd dat er nog meer delen volgen. Chase zocht namelijk naar nieuwe manieren om frequenter muziek te releasen, maar wilde het niet op een song-for-song basis doen. De Extended Play is dan een mooi medium, en Chase besloot daarom dit format te kiezen.

I have so many songs I’ve written that I’ve never released and may never hear the light of day and I decided I’m not doing that anymore. It’s like, if I write it and love it, let’s put it out.

Het idee voor de titel ontstond omdat hij zelf het steeds ‘The Album” bleef noemen, ondanks dat het iedere keer om een EP ging.

Jason Isbell & The 400 unit – “Reunions”

Na hun succesvolle album “The Nashville Sound” uit 2017 verschijnt morgen “Reunions“, het zevende studioalbum van Jason Isbell (& The 400 Unit).

Op het nieuwe album, dat werd opgenomen in RCA Studio A in Nashville, staan weer 10 heerlijke songs. De productie was weer in handen van de getalenteerde Dave Cobb en Jason is als tekstschrijver (mede) verantwoordelijk voor alle songs.

There are a lot of ghosts on this album. Sometimes the songs are about the ghosts of people who aren’t around anymore, but they’re also about who I used to be, the ghost of myself.

I found myself writing songs that I wanted to write 15 years ago, but in those days, I hadn’t written enough songs to know how to do it yet. Just now have I been able to pull it off to my own satisfaction. In that sense it’s a reunion with the me I was back then.

Sara Evans – “Copy That”

Sara Evans geeft ons met “Copy That” een overzicht van zes decennia muziekhistorie. Ze doet dit met 13 covers van absolute klassiekers.

Op dit album staan samenwerkingen met Phillip Sweet (Little Big Town) en Old Crow Medicine Show. De productie van het album nam ze zelf op zich, waarbij ze hulp kreeg van Jarrad K. Hij produceerde in het verleden onder andere albums van Ruston Kelly, de man van Kacey Musgraves, en de rockbands Weezer en Goo Good Dolls.

Veel songs hebben een persoonlijke betekenis voor Sara, met name omdat die haar leven en carrière hebben beïnvloed. Daarnaast wilde ze met de tracklist mensen ook attent maken op enkele verborgen juweeltjes.
